Who we are
Helping others means at least three things, for us.
Listening to those in front of us without prejudice and with respect for their story;
Providing assistance through simple and essential goods like a bed, a hot meal, and clean clothes;
Going beyond assistance, because every person has the right to a home and a job.
Our greatest success is that those who need us today can do without us tomorrow.
Organization
Progetto Arca was founded 30 years ago to provide concrete help to those living in poverty and severe social exclusion. In 1998, the organization achieved non-profit status, and 10 years later, it became a Foundation. In 2023, it was recognized as a Civil Society Organization (OSC), actively participating in the international development cooperation system.
La nostra storia
1994
La nascita
Il 25 marzo 1994 si costituisce a Milano l’Associazione Progetto Arca, per iniziativa di un gruppo di volontari del Rifugio di Fratel Ettore Boschini. Grazie alla collaborazione con il Centro Ambrosiano di Solidarietà, viene aperta la prima struttura di accoglienza per persone senzatetto con problemi di dipendenza.
1998
Il riconoscimento
Progetto Arca viene riconosciuta come onlus. Nascono nuovi servizi di accoglienza residenziale nell’area delle dipendenze.
2002
Verso altri bisogni sociali
Partono i primi progetti esterni all’ambito delle dipendenze: sostegno alimentare e custodia sociale per anziani e famiglie a rischio.
2009
Case per l’integrazione
Prende il via il progetto Case per l’integrazione per persone e famiglie in difficoltà economica e abitativa.
2010
La prima Unità di strada
A Milano nasce la prima Unità di strada di Progetto Arca.
Trasparency
None of what we accomplish would be possible without the trust of those who believe in us. Every year, we report and account for our work, the results achieved, and the social and economic impact generated, as well as the sources and use of the funds raised. With the Transparency documents, we aim to give back the trust we have received to all our stakeholders.
Ethics and Reporting
Progetto Arca has adopted an Organizational Model and a Code of Ethics under Legislative Decree 231/2001. The Foundation encourages its employees, collaborators, and volunteers to report any misconduct or inappropriate behaviour through the internal whistleblowing platform for irregularities.
